Facial Reflexology / Zone Face Lift - September 21 & 22, 2024

I completed the award-winning training and therapy: Zone Face Lift with Ziggie Bergman from the London School of Reflexology at the weekend. It doesn’t stop there… earlier this month, I completed Facial Cupping with Ziggie. The results in class were astounding. My introduction to the Bergman Method Facial Reflexology started back in June. Such a sensory experience, oh and Ziggie’s award-winning products are amazing!

My regular clients will know that these courses have been in the planning for some time. So as a thank you for your patience and loyalty I am offering priority appointments to my existing clients.

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) - July, 2024

Recently, I was given the opportunity to attend Sally Kay’s Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) course, which is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have practised RLD over the years with the help of Sally’s book and dvd but this has taken things to a whole new level of wowness.

I don’t think I have ever cried on a training course… listening to all the real life stories of the trainees receiving and giving RLD and how this has impacted so many lives in such a positive way. Such an interactive group and I will be forever grateful for the sharing. We worked on ourselves initially on day one practising the full sequence, which is short and featherlight in comparison to a classic reflexology treatment. The speed your body responds to this treatment is just incredible, it also presents in a way that leaves you bewildered… is this the RLD or would this have happened anyway? Sally’s award-winning method is evidenced based and practiced worldwide. I can’t wait to see the results in my charitable work and private practice!

I’d like to say a huge thank you to Sally Kay for her amazing tuition and The Healing Harbour charity for funding my course.

Blog . Spanish Retreat 2024

Spanish Retreat - April, 2024

My return visit to the Spanish retreat was awesome in every way! We were reunited with sisters Anna and Jane at Cortijo Romero who organised everything.

Reflexology and Mental Well-Being was the topic this year. Sally Earlam our special guest has a nurturing teaching style. She shared her practical reflexology techniques for emotional and mental wellbeing. It’s proving an invaluable asset to my skillset. Sophie our returning Herbalist shared her expertise of all things herbal. She enjoys aerial silks in her spare time… there must be real superpowers in those herbs! Rebecca our nutritionist, so passionate about food and the science behind it. A real eye opener discovering the cutting edge nutrigenomics left me wanting to learn more!

The beauty of this retreat is you can dip in and out of activities or do the whole shebang from yoga on the rooftop terrace to horse riding in the mountains. Singing in the choir on a sunny evening, reflexology swops by the pool and a fruit cocktail of massage treatments a must.

One of the highlights was hosting a full moon Reiki Circle with Chris from Body and Sole Therapy whom I met last year. It started off looking up at the moon to let’s organise a meditation circle. The rooftop terrace was the ideal spot bathed under the moonlight energy with candles glowing. We all linked hands and set our intention for love and peace. What a magical connection and something we will never forget!

The stories, laughter and love shared by this bunch of spiritual women all masters of keeping it real! Thank you ladies!

Blog . MacMillan Therapy Room

The Healing Harbour Charity - February, 2024

I have been volunteering for this wonderful charity The Healing Harbour for about 18 months. The charity is committed to enhancing the wellbeing of people living with deteriorating health in North Norfolk and their families, friends and carers.

I now offer reflexology and reiki treatments at the MacMillan Centre in Cromer alongside volunteers Dani (Palliative Nurse and Educator) and Alison (Charity Founder and Chair Trustee). Dani supports patients in the holistic assessment area, and the private therapy room is where I offer treatments. All the beautiful blankets have been lovingly donated. The feedback has been amazing.

If you are living with a deteriorating health condition such as neurological, dementia or palliative cancer, you can self refer by emailing The Healing Harbour Charity: thehealingharbour22@gmail.com.

Our sessions are monthly at the MacMillan Centre Cromer Hospital. Please check out other events by visiting: The Healing Harbour Charity or info.

Blog . Retreat Granada

Spanish Retreat - April, 2023

I arrived in Granada Spain for my first ever retreat; also, my first flight abroad for 8 years, and my first time travelling abroad alone. I had all the negative thoughts imaginable as my monkey mind kicked in, but you know what, I had the time of my life! From enjoying a G&T with total strangers on the plane to getting to know over 20 amazing Reflexologists, whom I had never met, transported on a journey of self-discovery is what retreats are designed to do.

The retreat itself was simply stunning with breath-taking mountain views, tranquil scented gardens, pool, meditation room, and library. The food was sensational with our own chef/nutritionist, so all food was carefully planned, healthy and all the colours of the rainbow. I had yoga at sunrise, sang in a choir, climbed mountains, made chocolates, laughed so much my sides ached, danced, and chatted until the sun went down. I had the most relaxing massage with reiki, aromatherapy oils, and acupressure, plus a 1-2-1 session with a nutritionist that I couldn’t pass up.

We had the pleasure of training with the award-winning legend Lynne Booth using her vertical reflexology techniques (VRT). I have had superb results using VRT techniques with clients since - just wow! We had workshops: managing pain through an anti-inflammatory diet, herbs for addressing the emotional aspects of pain through journey work and managing pain with yoga therapy. Phew!

I was blessed to have met so many beautiful souls from all over the world including Mexico, The States, Europe, and the UK who were so caring, thoughtful, kind, and supportive to one another. My beautiful soul sisters gave me spiritual healing, facial reflexology, Indian head massage and classic reflexology; their incredible energy and the positive energy of that of the retreat is something I will hold on to forever. It’s not goodbye though as I have a treatment swop with one of my soul sisters this month, who is also on her own spiritual path. A big thank you to sisters Anna and Jane from Equilibrio Retreats for organising such an unforgettable experience at Cortijo Romero.

So next time your monkey mind kicks in, push on and experience the magic!

Top Tips for Cooling Down in a Heatwave - August, 2022

1. Keep your feet cool - soak feet in cold water to help lower your temperature.

2. Apply a wet washcloth with cold water to any of these pulse points - neck, wrists, behind the knees, ankles and feet, or cool these areas in the shower.

3. Spritz skin with a face mist.

4. Fill a hot water bottle with cold water and pop in the freezer - it makes a great cool me down pack.

5. Stay hydrated - drink cool glasses of water throughout the day to help lower your temperature.

6. Limit caffeine - tea or coffee dehydrate you; instead replace with herbal tea such as peppermint tea.

7. Eat foods high in water content to stay hydrated - cucumber, watermelon, tomatoes, lettuce, blueberries, strawberries, oranges and apples.

Keep cool and stay safe everyone.

Blog . Oil painting

The best kept secret on the North Norfolk coast - October, 2021

Absolutely loving the new addition to my treatment space. This spectacular sunset oil painting of the local beach has really moved me on so many levels. It’s the missing piece of the jigsaw. Rosie has really captured all that my clients are saying as they enter the treatment room. What a dream she has been to work with from start to finish. She has even painted one of my Reiki symbols on the back of the canvas that I have blessed - so nothing is too much trouble. An original, true, and personal piece of art. She is such an incredible, young, local artist. I cannot praise her enough.

The question is… do you look at the beautiful field view; watch the blue sky and fluffy clouds through the roof lantern; admire the stunning seascape, or simply lay back and fall asleep? The decision is yours! One of my client’s chooses to have one eye open admiring the view, and the other eye in sleep mode. So anything goes!

Check out Rosie Phillips Art online shop, website and Instagram account to see her award-winning artwork.

Blog . Let it go!

Let it go! - September, 2021

Holding on to past hurts can be debilitating and really hold you back. Emotions are high at the moment. Letting go can empower you and really help you move forward in life. Make it your intention to erase these feelings or thoughts from your memory. One way you can do this is simply write it in the sand and watch the waves wash it away.

Blog . summer solstice

Let the energy of the Summer Solstice help you balance, release, and recharge - June, 2021

Feeling the vibe on the summer solstice. Wow what a surge of energy coming from my therapy room today. When two Reflexologists get together - anything can happen!

I have been waiting so long for this day... when I too could receive a treatment in my new therapy room - and it exceeded all expectations. To feel a little of how a client feels is what makes for a great experience, and all part of my reflective practice. To treat a fellow Reflexologist, and have an honest discussion is a valuable lesson as a practitioner.

If you ever get the opportunity to have a complementary therapy on the solstice day - go for it! The energy vibration feels heightened, and that goes for meditation too. What a wonderful treat indeed. We couldn’t have picked a better day.

When I think of March, daffodils spring to mind - March, 2021

Blog . Chakra Umbrella

The Chakra Umbrellas - June, 2020

There is nothing like one of the chakra colours to brighten up your day. Colour is such a positive thing, and so important to lift our mood, keep us grounded, and protect us emotionally.

Notice how it makes you feel when you see a rainbow?

Colour is so significant during a Reiki session, and has such powerful healing qualities. The heart chakra for instance is associated with unconditional love and balance. If you are apart from loved ones, here’s a positive way you can connect with them emotionally: wear the colours green or pink next to the centre of your chest (sternum) to bring about positive energies.

The Swans Reflexology Talk And Demo - March, 2020

Thank you to Debi Haden for inviting me along to the Swans ladies group in Swanton Abbott to talk about Reflexology.

Presenting in front of a group of people is never easy, but all the ladies were so welcoming. Thank you for the constant flow of questions, and for sharing some personal information with the group. You really are a lovely bunch!

The hand reflexology demo was great fun, and we did enjoy sticking coloured dots on some of the reflex points. It’s a good way to get precision with reflexology.

My willing volunteer for the foot reflexology demo is the envy of Swanton Abbott.

One thing I did notice is how much we can learn in a social group; sharing ideas, laughs, stories and building on friendships. It’s good for your well-being!

The final group question of the evening did raise a laugh. “When can I book in?” But joking aside, If you think of any more questions please do get in touch.

An Introduction to Ear Reflexology - March, 2020

Reflexology can be performed on your feet, hands, face or ears. Here are a few photos from the weekend meeting with the Association of Reflexologist members: An Introduction to Ear Reflexology. A fascinating insight in to how placing vaccaria seeds on certain pressure points on your ears can have positive benefits to your health and well-being.

I have worn my ear seeds for two days now and have to say my lingering sinus symptoms have improved. I will explore more of the art of ear reflexology.

Shower Meditation - February, 2020

Clients find that visualisation techniques really help during treatments. To support clients in between treatments I may ask them to visualise all their negative thoughts washing away.

This is the shower meditation if you want to try it out during your daily routine:

Paula x

"Every time you take a shower, visualise washing away your stress and anxiety.
Concentrate on the feel of the water upon your skin.
Envision the power of the water washing away negative thoughts.
Feel sadness, regret, anger, and depression washing right off of you.
Let it all go down the drain.
You'll start to feel much more lighter and much more clear.”
